WELCOME TO MY TRAVEL BLOG

I have always enjoyed traveling, even if it meant sleeping in a tent when I was younger. I prefer hotels and cruise cabins now, but the motivation is the same...an adventure waiting to happen. Sometimes you will find me traveling with my husband and/or family. Sometimes I will travel alone, and sometimes I will travel with friends. I hope you find it entertaining to keep up to date with me as I explore the world around me. Warning...I like to take pictures of food so don't read if you're hungry. More adventures await...see ya soon...Amy.

We arrived at our hotel via the Canada Line Skyway from the airport. The hotel is located just a couple of blocks from the Waterfront stop and we walked it easily pulling our suitcase. I researched hotels to see which would be the most convenient for boarding our cruise ship, the Sapphire Princess. This hotel had very high ratings on Trip Advisor and now I can see why. The hotel is situated at the Canada Place Pier. We will literally ride the down elevator of the hotel to the bottom level and be at the boarding place for the boat. We booked the cruise package which gives us breakfast for two, a very late check out time, transportation of our luggage down to the boat whenever we are ready, and easy access to boarding the boat. The hotel is very clean and fresh in appearance. The lobby is accessed by elevator or escalator from the street level. The attendants at the registration desk are professional and very friendly. I had mentioned on my reservation that my parent's were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. We were very very surprised to find out upon check in that BOTH of our rooms had been upgraded. My parents were upgraded to a suite that has a 180 degree view of the Harbor. There were two cruise ships docked when we arrived and we saw them leave the pier. Mom and Dad should see our ship docked when they wake up tomorrow. Danny and I were upgraded to a suite that has a lovely view and is also one of the largest hotel rooms we have ever stayed in. It's as large as an apartment! Our suite is the Amber suite if anyone is interested. It is gorgeous! They also left us a lovely piece of chocolate cake with a little sign that said Happy 50th anniversary. Both rooms had the cake and it was delicious! Enjoy the pictures of the rooms. We are just stunned that they gave us this gift. What a great start to our adventure.
