WELCOME TO MY TRAVEL BLOG

I have always enjoyed traveling, even if it meant sleeping in a tent when I was younger. I prefer hotels and cruise cabins now, but the motivation is the same...an adventure waiting to happen. Sometimes you will find me traveling with my husband and/or family. Sometimes I will travel alone, and sometimes I will travel with friends. I hope you find it entertaining to keep up to date with me as I explore the world around me. Warning...I like to take pictures of food so don't read if you're hungry. More adventures await...see ya soon...Amy.

Mercure Royal Limousin: Limoges, France

clean and comfortable with a view on the square
The wifi (pronounced we-fe) worked great!

no shower curtain or glass partition

beautiful view of the square in winter

We always stay in this lovely hotel when we are in Limoges. I'm not sure why except that this is where we stayed with Danny's parents. Its centrally located to walking in the old part of the city and thus a perfect location for sightseeing. The rooms are always clean and comfortable. Be forewarned though, there are NO shower curtains or glass partitions on the tubs. There is a hand wand to make washing hair a little easier, but if you are a splasher, there will be a mess! I also really like the breakfast here and the hotel staff are always very courteous and helpful. Our favorite part of the room is something that is new! There is a metal screen that mechanically moves down over the window and balcony doors to completely block every ray of sunshine there is. This is magical for jetlagged people! Watch the little movie to see what I mean.
