WELCOME TO MY TRAVEL BLOG

I have always enjoyed traveling, even if it meant sleeping in a tent when I was younger. I prefer hotels and cruise cabins now, but the motivation is the same...an adventure waiting to happen. Sometimes you will find me traveling with my husband and/or family. Sometimes I will travel alone, and sometimes I will travel with friends. I hope you find it entertaining to keep up to date with me as I explore the world around me. Warning...I like to take pictures of food so don't read if you're hungry. More adventures await...see ya soon...Amy.

Hotel Lion D'Or: Bayeux, France

Hotel Lion D'Or

very limited parking but somehow we have always managed to squeeze in

cute little houses outside.

Ashley and Ben's room

Danny and Amy's room

This old hotel is the one we always stay in. I don't know why other than it's where we stayed with my inlaws and it's where they always stayed. There are famous people's pictures on the wall in the lounge/bar area and always the nicest people behind the front desk. Ashley and Ben found a very friendly little kitty outside that helped Ashley because she really missed her kitty, Tiger. There is no elevator in this hotel and its a little creakity in places, but some would view this as "charming". The rooms seem to all be decorated differently as I have never stayed in a room that looked the same. On this visit our rooms were definately different. There is also no air conditioning in this hotel! We have never stayed when the season would be hot so i really can't comment on that. The windows do open though which is really nice for a breeze. The bathrooms also do not have shower curtains or glass walls. Why don't french people like shower curtains!!! The breakfast in this hotel is always a favorite. I especially like the little honey jars and packages of hot chocolate. Yummy!
