WELCOME TO MY TRAVEL BLOG

I have always enjoyed traveling, even if it meant sleeping in a tent when I was younger. I prefer hotels and cruise cabins now, but the motivation is the same...an adventure waiting to happen. Sometimes you will find me traveling with my husband and/or family. Sometimes I will travel alone, and sometimes I will travel with friends. I hope you find it entertaining to keep up to date with me as I explore the world around me. Warning...I like to take pictures of food so don't read if you're hungry. More adventures await...see ya soon...Amy.

My sister-in-law Christy presented me with an opportunity that was really hard to pass up....another trip to Disney! She had two free airline tickets and a discount on lodging. We had both said that we had so much fun last time in May that we wanted to go together again so here we are! We arrived today and are staying at the same resort as last time, Coronado Springs. Our room is just a few steps from the bus stop which is very convenient. We rode the Disney Magic bus to the hotel from the airport and were delighted that our room was ready so we could dump our backpacks. It would be awhile before our bags got there, but we had everything we needed to head to a park. We went to Epcot because we were eating at Kouzzina at the Boardwalk. This was a favorite restaurant from our last visit so we knew we needed a return visit. We had our pins with us and ready to trade so we looked for lariats on cast members as we wandered the park. We thought it would be fun to do Epcot's version of a scavenger hunt using the Disney characters, Phineas and Pherb. We were given a cell phone that played a video with clues of our task and we picked Mexico for our mission. The cell phone would tell us to stand in certain places and then things would happen like a skeleton display suddenly dancing or a volcano erupting. We actually saw things in Mexico that we might not have seen if we hadn't spent time looking on our mission. After our mission was over, we were getting close to our reservation for dinner and walked over to Boardwalk instead of taking the boat. Dinner was delicious! Boardwalk bakery is closed for renovation, but we scoped out where to get our delicious cupcakes tomorrow in a kiosk nearby. After dinner, we wandered through France and then down to Morocco. In Morocco there was an exhibit of traditional dress and henna tatoos that was very interesting to look at. We owe our finding it to "Tour Guide Mike" who Christy uses to help her find interesting things such as that and which park to go to when and where to get the best seat for shows! We used that information to park ourselves outside of France between two green buildings to watch Illuminations, the fireworks show. We happened to find an empty table with two chairs and it was the perfect setting for the show. After the show, we pin traded and wandered ourselves back down to our bus. When we arrived at the hotel, our bags were in our rooms and we are taking our weary selves to bed....Until tomorrow.
